(12/17/05 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - Police are trying to track down a gunman who opened fire at a southwest Houston apartment complex, killing a teenager.

Investigators say the 17-year-old victim was in the back seat of a car with two other people Friday night when they pulled into the Chateau Carmel apartments on Westward at Glenmont. They honked at a car in front of them because it was blocking the driveway.

"We were told that they had honked at him," said Todd Tyler of the Houston Police Department. "There was some delay getting into the gate or outside of the gate and after they honked at them is when the guy shot them."

The teenager was hit in the neck. He later died at Ben Taub Hospital.

Police are looking for the gunman and two other people, who took off in a white Toyota 4-Runner.
